-Announcements about new CTLA meeting schedule and plans.

10:30-11:00 CTLA Business Meeting
Old Business:
-Decreased role of vendors at meetings due to budget cuts
-Increased role of CTLA sponsorship paid for by membership dues
-Reading and review of last meeting minutesNew Business:
-Marge Fashing history flashback of CTLA, Department of Lib., and school roles. Also, Marge reported major fire at her home, which destroyed some of her book collections
-Meeting schedule this year

-Role within new Curriculum and Instruction Core Office
-New Common Core Standards integration
-New District Priorities for Professional Development with new separate PD Office
-New Librarian Orientations; Annual Back-to-School Event cancelled to avoid scheduling conflicts with local school site PDs
-Librarian Learning Communities (LLCs) in networks during school days (sub coverage will be provided) with dates pending
-Student Book Clubs, Battle of the Books, and Matching Grant programs under review
-SOAR automated cataloging training and school implementation
-Chicago Public Library Children’s Department programs:
-Teen Volume Conference Oct. 25 at Harold Washington Lib.
-Book-a-Mania Nov. 19 at Harold Washington Lib.
-ISLMA Conference Oct. 27-Oct. 29 in Springfield. Bus available if requested
-Librarian’s Professional Book Club meeting Nov. 29 at ETF from 4-5:30 on Free Voluntary Reading by Stephen Krashen
-SALSA (Spanish language Award-winning Literature Seminar for All) meeting at Lorca School, 3231 N. Springfield on Nov. 30 with booktalks and CPS vendor displays
-Tribute to Maria Rodriguez, retiring CPS DLIS Professional Librarian and Area Librarian extraordinaire
